How we can help
Now that your child is 18 they have become a young adult.  After spending many years at school and college they now face a huge jump into the ‘adult’ world.

This can be hard to adjust to especially as their peer group can now be aged up to 65.  They also have to come to terms with losing the routine of getting up and going to school and socialising with others.

To help bridge this gap, the Spring Centre are offering day care services for young adults up to 25 years of age. 

We aim  to promote social skills and help the individual gain confidence and independence in life.  We take into account individual personal interests and aim to provide interesting fun filled days for our users

Our Services

• Art and Craft Workshops – painting, drawing, making jewellery, cards etc
• Gardening – our garden plot has raised beds for our users to tend and grow vegetables, salad, etc which we can then use for lunch.
• Independent skills, such as shopping, cooking, making snacks etc.
• Trips out in the community to help increase money awareness and gain confidence in shopping.
• Outside play on trampoline, swings and roundabout.
• Inside play – snooker, air hockey, table football, playstations,
• Computer skills,  digital photography and internet
• Holistic therapies such as reflexology and head massage.

What will it mean for my young person?

• We offer a bridge into the adult world which is not as severe as the usual placement, where peers will be aged up to 65,  our services user will be aged from 18 – 25 years.
• Your young person will be looked after in a caring friendly and safe environment, with trained and qualified staff that have their best interests at heart and want to help them make their life as enjoyable and independent as possible.
• We offer lots of different activities which are geared to help with independence whilst having fun and that is exclusively for young adults between 18 and 25 years.
• They will be socialising and making friends with people their own age.

What will it mean for Parents and Carers?
You will have the assurance that your young person will be looked after by caring and experienced staff.  We already have over 20 years experience of looking after children up to 18 with special needs and disabilities.

Your young person will have somewhere to go after leaving college that is aimed at people their own age.  They will be able to take part in lots of different activities which are geared to help with independence.  We want to provide a service that is fun and fulfilling  while at the same time supporting the young adult to be more independent in the community

Our facilities
We have some wonderful facilities including a fully functional kitchen, where simple cooking and snack making take place, a quiet lounge/diner area, a sensory garden, allotment garden, outside play area, soft play room, sensory room, art room and large playroom.

We have two mini buses so that we can take trips out, either shopping or socialising  in the community or day trips out.

Our service will run on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays, from 9.00am until 3pm.

We have always been parent led and adjusted our services so that we know we are providing what the parents and young people want, ensuring that their time spent here is happy and enjoyable.
